I have taken a break from writing to be working in the studio. Several new pieces have emerged. The first was the latest in my “Go with the flow” series, which depicts the labyrinth as though floating down a river.
This was followed by a new piece featuring words from Leonard Cohen’s Anthem: “Ring the bells that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
Next I worked on my latest rendition of a favorite quote by Rumi: “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there.”
I then developed another version of “Go with the flow,” using one of my all-time favorite batik fabrics – yes, those are birds in the background.
The last new piece I will highlight today includes another favorite quotation, this one from Juan Ramon Jimenez. “My boat struck something deep. Nothing happened. Sound, silence, waves. Nothing happened, or perhaps everything has happened, and I’m sitting in the middle of my new life.”
